May Pops Finale with Irina Muresanu

The MSO wraps up the season with a high-energy Pops concert packed with cinematic and Broadway favorites! Enjoy toe-tapping hits by John Williams and Leroy Anderson, beloved medleys from Wicked and Star Trek, and more. Internationally acclaimed violinist Irina Muresanu joins the orchestra for dazzling showpieces that will leave you breathless. A crowd-pleasing finale you won’t want to miss!

 

The Concierto de Aranjuez by Rodrigo is perhaps the most played and beloved of all guitar concerti. A version by Miles Davis and Gil Evans made its iconic second movement even more popular. We will perform the work in its original version along with music by Falla, Turina and Arriaga that explores the intensity, lyricism and colors of the Spanish landscape.
