Open Door Theater Takes Flight with HONK! at The Dragonfly Theater, R.J. Grey Jr. HS in Acton, March 20-29, 2026. Information at www.OpenDoorTheater.org. HONK!, a musical telling of “The Ugly Duckling” story, is a heartwarming celebration of being different that is sure to delight audiences of all ages. Ugly looks quite a bit different from his siblings, and others are quick to notice and point this out. Ugly is kind-hearted, awkward and innocent, and his journey of self-discovery is the heart of the show. Open Door’s cast will present 6 performances March 20-29. All performances are relaxed/sensory friendly and feature ASL interpretation and open captioning. There will be audio-described performances on the second weekend. Tickets are $20.

We're having a CHALLENGING* Contra Dance fundraiser with callers Annie Kidwell and Tommy Linden, matched with the music of Julie Metcalf (fiddle) and Max Newman (guitar and feet) plus potential friends! This evening is for EXPERIENCED* dancers and will feature such goodies as novel choreography, a NO-WALK-THROUGH MEDLEY, etc.! Sound engineering & equipment by Don Veino, plus special lighting (no bright flashing) to help set the mood. This is a FUNdraiser dance for the Concord Scout House, Inc., hosted by the CSH Board. All proceeds over the band benefit the Scout House. Come and help support our treasured Scout House venue - we look forward to seeing you on the dance floor! This is a fragrance-free event, please avoid the use of scented body and laundry products. PLEASE BRING CLEAN, SOFT-SOLED SHOES FOR DANCING TO PROTECT OUR NEW FLOOR! Larks/Robins role terms. For the last thirty two years, THE PEKING ACROBATS® have redefined audience perceptions of Chinese acrobatics. They perform daring maneuvers atop a precarious pagoda of chairs and display their technical prowess at such arts as trick-cycling, precision tumbling, juggling, somersaulting, and gymnastics. They push the limits of human ability, defying gravity with amazing displays of contortion, flexibility, and control. THE PEKING ACROBATS are often accompanied by live musicians who skillfully play traditional Chinese instruments; the time-honored Chinese music coalesces with high-tech special effects and awe-inspiring acrobatic feats, creating an exuberant entertainment event with the festive pageantry of a Chinese Carnival.

Trumpeter and vocalist Christine Fawson, a former Berklee College of Music faculty member for fourteen years, has built an acclaimed international career as a solo artist, educator, and recording musician. Known for her warm vocal style and expressive trumpet playing, she brings a distinctive musical voice shaped by decades of performance and collaboration. Her recent recording It Could Happen to You highlights her artistry through sophisticated arrangements and inventive interpretations of jazz standards. Fawson is joined by an exceptional trio of distinguished musicians. Pianist Russell Hoffmann, Associate Professor of Piano at Berklee College of Music, is widely recognized for his work as a performer, composer, and arranger across jazz and contemporary styles. Bassist Marshall Wood brings a remarkable legacy that includes performances with many of jazz’s most celebrated artists and years as Tony Bennett’s touring and recording bassist. Drummer Casey Scheuerell, a highly respected performer and Berklee professor, has enjoyed an extensive international career spanning jazz, fusion, and studio performance. Together, the quartet presents an engaging program of jazz classics and inspired improvisation performed by artists whose collective experience represents the highest level of contemporary jazz performance.
