CHESS

The collaborators on Chess are giants of rock music and rock musicals, and here they have created a complex rock opera that played to full Broadway houses and standing ovations. In this musical, the ancient game becomes a metaphor for romantic rivalries, competitive gamesmanship, super-power politics, and international intrigue.

The pawns in this drama form a love triangle: the loutish American chess star, the earnest Russian champion, and a Hungarian American female assistant who arrives at the international chess match in Bangkok with the American, but falls for the Russian. From Bangkok to Budapest, the players, lovers, politicians and spies manipulate and are manipulated to the pulse of a monumental rock score that includes “One Night in Bangkok” and “Heaven Help My Heart.”

The Cottage - A Comedy

The Cottage - A Comedy

02-13-2026 7:30 pm - 02-14-2026 7:30 pm
The Cottage by Sandy Rustin is a frothy, screwball-style farce set in 1923 England. Sylvia Van Kipness, having spent a romantic night with her lover Beau, impulsively decides to send telegrams to her husband Clarke and to Beau’s wife, Marjorie, confessing the affair. What seems like a bold declaration of love soon spirals into chaos as unexpected visitors, further secrets, and comedic misunderstandings pile up. Rustin mixes classic British farce sensibilities (à la Noël Coward) with a more modern, feminist edge, giving her female characters agency and boldness and the determination to choose their fates.

The Gondoliers revolves around two handsome brothers, Marco and Giuseppe Palmieri, who are Venetian gondoliers.  After a playful selection process, the brothers marry the farm girls, Gianetta and Tessa. All seems well until the brothers learn that one of them is the rightful heir to the throne of Barataria. They struggle with this new development, as they despise the idea of ruling a monarchy and prefer the simplicity of their gondolier lives. Another surprise emerges when one of the brothers was wed in infancy to the daughter of the Duke of Plaza-Toro.  The daughter is secretly in love with the servant, creating a love triangle. In the end, the rightful heir is identified, and everyone is restored to their rightful partner.
