Birds of a Feather

Birds of a Feather is a new American indie family superduo consisting of two kids music luminaries – Brooklyn’s, longtime children’s music pioneer, Suzi Shelton and Filipina-American Little Miss Ann of Chicago. Individually, Suzi and Ann have each maintained a strong presence in the national kids music scene, performing with their own bands across the country and producing many award-winning albums on their own. For over a decade, these longtime friends have also been inspired to perform together regularly at esteemed venues including the Kids stage at Lollapalooza (Chicago), The Overture Center (Madison), Jewish Museum (NYC), and Wolftrap (DC) to name a few. Birds of a Feather released their hit Debut Album “Rock Together” in June and are loving performing for audiences throughout the country – including here at the Cabot!

Billy F. Gibbons

With his signature beard and African headgear, Billy F Gibbons is instantly recognizable and best known as the centerpiece of ZZ Top.

BFG is widely regarded as one of the world’s finest guitarists working in the blues-rock idiom. The sound originates from the uncanny knack to squeeze unheard of sounds out of the electric guitar with the blues, pop, r&b, country, gospel, western, hillbilly and West Africa. That BFG down ‘n dirty growl is unmistakable heard on such hits as “La Grange,” “Sharp Dressed Man” and “Cheap Sunglasses”.

Billy F Gibbons is much more than an iconic guitar slinger with a monumental length of chin whiskers… He’s an internationally recognized collector of guitars and cars, noted in the best-selling book, Rock + Roll Gearhead.

An Evening with Paula Cole

“(Cole) bravely reveals deeper layers in her music…ripping off the band-aid of hurt and disillusionment, vulnerability and insecurities are laid bare against a rich atmospheric backdrop of compelling songcraft.”—Rock Cellar

Six-time Grammy-winner Paula Cole is an electrifying and cathartic performer, moving between piano, guitar, singing out her heart.  From whispering poetry in a low alto range, to opening her throat in primal scream, Cole’s voice is more commanding than ever, revealing battle scars, deep wisdom, the soulfulness of gospel, the urgency of rock, and the sensitivity of folk.

This Massachusetts native’s storytelling reveals the long, fascinating journey Cole has traversed in the music business, from her beginnings with Peter Gabriel to the Grammys, from growing up in the small New England town of Rockport to trailblazing the first Lilith Fair concerts, from motherhood to reentering a new chapter of her career.  Brilliantly cross-weaving genres, Cole has been impossible to categorize, she is a singular voice and an icon in music.

An Evening with Cowboy Junkies – Celebrating 40 Years

Cowboy Junkies will be performing a career-spanning show from The Trinity Session to their recent album, Such Ferocious Beauty!

Sometimes revolutions begin quietly.

In 1988, Cowboy Junkies proved that there was an audience waiting for something quiet, beautiful and reflective. The Trinity Session was like a whisper that cut through the noise — and it was compelling. It stood out in the midst of the flash and bombast that came to define the late 80’s. The now classic recording combined folk, blues and rock in a way that had never been heard before and went on to sell more than a million copies.

Formed in Toronto in 1985 with siblings Michael Timmins on guitar, Margo Timmins on vocals, Peter Timmins on drums, and Michael’s lifelong friend Alan Anton on bass, the band has sparkled over the course of 29 albums. “I’ve known Alan longer than I’ve known Pete,” says Michael. “We were friends before Pete was born.”

Unlike most long-lasting groups, Cowboy Junkies have never had a break up or taken a sanity-saving hiatus. There’s an appreciation of each other that keeps them constantly working. “It’s that intimacy and understanding of what each one of us brings to the table,” says Michael. Cowboy Junkies’ will be performing a career-spanning show, including their new album, ‘Such Ferocious Beauty’, which was released worldwide on June 2, 2023 to universal critical acclaim.
