Ross Livermore & Jeff Conley

Ross Livermore & Jeff Conley

This show is somewhat of a reunion for the two long-time friends who began their musical careers more than 15 years ago at venues in Boston and all over New England.

Ross Livermore is originally from the Northshore (Peabody), but currently lives and plays music full-time in Nashville, TN. Jeff Conley is originally from Cape Cod, but has been a Cape Ann local for the past 8 years.

ROSS LIVERMORE

Ross Livermore is a distinguished American musician, singer-songwriter whose innovative approach to contemporary soul and rock music has garnered widespread acclaim since his debut in 2008. Renowned for his distinctive voice and evocative songwriting, Livermore fuses introspective lyrics with compelling melodies to create a sound that is both refreshingly original and deeply rooted in tradition.

JEFF CONLEY

I have been collecting guitars since I was 10 years old. Years later, I decided to sell dozens of those guitars in order to buy two 1960’s Gibsons. When those Gibson’s were stolen from a venue in 2008, I decided to never buy a guitar again. From then on I would only build & play my own custom choppers. Jeff spent 15+ years touring and playing all over the United States as well as shows in Europe.

Mr Sun Plays Ellington’s Nutcracker

Mr Sun Plays Ellington’s Nutcracker

Bluegrass supergroup Mr Sun performs a new interpretation of Ellington’s legendary Nutcracker Suite!

If you haven’t heard of the cheerfully named supergroup Mr Sun, you’ve certainly heard its proponents, four of the finest musicians on the American roots scene: Renowned fiddler Darol Anger, Professor Emeritus at Berklee College of Music, who has released many solo albums in addition to his work with David Grisman and Mike Marshall, and founded the Turtle Island Quartet, Psychograss, and Republic of Strings;  Joe K. Walsh,  mandolin virtuoso and vocalist who spent four years with the award-winning bluegrass act the Gibson Brothers before becoming solo artist and songwriter and Strings Department Professor at Berklee; all-around guitar genius Grant Gordy, a former member of Dawg Music guru David Grisman’s band; and the phenomenal Scots bassist Aidan O’Connell, who has backed harpist Maeve Gilchrist and countless modern Jazz heroes.

Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite contains some of the most beloved and familiar melodies in the Western world. Mr Sun has seized upon the inspiration of Duke Ellington’s brilliant, sly, & urbane re-interpretation of Tchaikovsky’s Suite as an opportunity to salute and re-invent this wildly multi-faceted work anew through the lens of the American String Band, a musical form which contains myriad styles and is presently engaged in a marathon upheaval of innovation and expansion.

Bull Run - Tom Rush

Bull Run - Tom Rush

Tom Rush: From his early days at Club 47, the Cambridge coffeehouse that also gave Joan Baez, Bob Dylan and Judy Collins their start back in the 1960's, through 14 albums, to his sold out Club 47® concert series which has filled the likes of Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center, Tom's knack for finding wonderful songs, writing his own and championing emerging artists has made him a legend.
His music includes healthy doses of both folk and blues influences. He also was the first major artist to record the songs of a then-unknown Joni Mitchell, and also recorded a number of songs from such emerging singer/songwriters of the time as Jackson Browne, Eric von Schmidt, James Taylor and Eric Kaz.
