Dream Box/MoonDial Tour
Guitarist and Composer PAT METHENY, winner of 20 Grammy Awards in 10 different categories, gives an intimate concert like no other Metheny performance before. Playing over a dozen guitars, Metheny offers songs from his past and recent recordings, Dream Box and MoonDial, all given further dimension by the rare storytelling Pat shares with the audience.
Pat Metheny was born in Lee’s Summit, MO on August 12, 1954 into a musical family. Starting on trumpet at the age of 8, Metheny switched to guitar at age 12. By the age of 15, he was working regularly with the best jazz musicians in Kansas City, receiving valuable on-the-bandstand experience at an unusually young age. Metheny first burst onto the international jazz scene in 1974. Over the course of his three-year stint with vibraphone great Gary Burton, the young Missouri native already displayed his soon-to-become trademarked playing style, which blended the loose and flexible articulation customarily reserved for horn players with an advanced rhythmic and harmonic sensibility: a way of playing and improvising that was modern in conception but grounded deeply in the jazz tradition of melody, swing, and the blues. With the release of his first album, Bright Size Life (1975), he reinvented the traditional “jazz guitar” sound for a new generation of players. Throughout his career, Pat Metheny has continued to redefine the genre by utilizing new technology and constantly working to evolve the improvisational and sonic potential of his instrument.
as she enters her third decade as a songwriter and performer, she continues to reaffirm her status as a vital voice in music.
“…extraordinary songs, mesmerising guitar playing, and a voice that goes effortlessly from bruise-tender to scar-hard in a matter of minutes… her lyrics are crafted and clever, full of subtlety and polished phrases…With delicious sarcasm and acerbic stories, she held the audience spellbound… her songs are so personal to her that they speak to everyone who listens.” – The Guardian
Shawn Colvin stopped the industry in its tracks with her arresting 1989 debut, Steady On. The following spring, Colvin took home the GRAMMY Award for Best Contemporary Folk Album, establishing herself as a mainstay in the singer-songwriter genre. In the ensuing 30 years, Colvin has won three GRAMMY Awards, released thirteen superlative albums, written a critically acclaimed memoir, maintained a non-stop national and international touring schedule, appeared on countless television and radio programs, had her songs featured in major motion pictures and created a remarkable canon of work.
Colvin triumphed at the 1998 GRAMMY Awards, winning both Record and Song of the Year for the Top 10 hit “Sunny Came Home,” from the platinum-selling album A Few Small Repairs.
The Band's Only New England Appearance in 2024!
BS&T has never stopped touring. Fans have their favorite musicians who are originals to them and we all agree but it is simply Blood Sweat and Tears at its best.
Blood Sweat and Tears was born from a selfish notion that we could combine the sophistication and musical skill level of jazz music with the energy and universal appeal of rock vocal music. Instead of incessant whiny guitar interludes, we would have improvised, spontaneous jazz solos. Horn arrangements were not an afterthought, they were fully integrated into the songs themselves, some written by band members and others that would come from many different resources. These are the ideas that formulated the concept of BS&T.
The most commercially successful version of the band was in fact, our second line-up. That set the course of seeking out the most talented musicians and having a revolving door for stars to join us while in between their tours. And it worked! No bored players here.
This show is somewhat of a reunion for the two long-time friends who began their musical careers more than 15 years ago at venues in Boston and all over New England.
Ross Livermore is originally from the Northshore (Peabody), but currently lives and plays music full-time in Nashville, TN. Jeff Conley is originally from Cape Cod, but has been a Cape Ann local for the past 8 years.

JEFF CONLEY
I have been collecting guitars since I was 10 years old. Years later, I decided to sell dozens of those guitars in order to buy two 1960’s Gibsons. When those Gibson’s were stolen from a venue in 2008, I decided to never buy a guitar again. From then on I would only build & play my own custom choppers. Jeff spent 15+ years touring and playing all over the United States as well as shows in Europe.
