CLASSICAL MUSIC

Symphony by the Sea - Sketches of Spain The Concierto de Aranjuez by Rodrigo is perhaps the most played and beloved of all guitar concerti. A version by Miles Davis and Gil Evans made its iconic second movement even more popular. We will perform the work in its original version along with music by Falla, Turina and Arriaga that explores the intensity, lyricism and colors of the Spanish landscape.

Carlisle Chamber Orchestra - MAHLER Das Lied von Der Erde

Margretta Beaty and Ethan Bremner join the Carlisle Chamber Orchestra for Mahler's chronicle of the weariness of body and soul, an embracing of death, then, finally, an exquisitely lyrical outpouring of faith in life's renewal.  The work is sometimes titled "Song of the Earth".
