A rare opportunity to experience all five of Beethoven’s cello sonatas in a single evening, this extraordinary recital traces the composer’s evolution from youthful fire to transcendent late style. Legendary Dutch cellist Pieter Wispelwey, praised by The New York Times for his “unusually complete grasp of the music,” joins acclaimed pianist Pei-Shan Lee, whose playing has been called “ravishing and insightful” by The Boston Globe, for a powerful exploration of one of chamber music’s greatest collections of masterpieces.
