Rob Flax & The Boom Chick Trio

Rob Flax possesses a rare combination of skills: he is an award-winning virtuoso violinist, classically trained but known for his jazz and improvisational pyrotechnics and irresistible grooves; he is also a powerhouse vocalist, capable of silky crooning a la Nat King Cole or visceral Chicago blues shouts. Rob has performed nationally and internationally with artists such as B.B. King, Tower of Power and many others. He has written music for choreographers, film and several original projects.

Rob Flax’s Boom Chick Trio is a new “supergroup” that features Slava Tolstoy on guitar and Noah Harrington on bass. Slava Tolstoy is a Boston based guitarist, singer and producer, originally from St. Petersburg Russia. His International String Trio fuses Gypsy Jazz with World Music and has toured across USA many times.

Lead by guitarist Frank Vignola and featuring guitarist Vinny Raniolo and bassist Gary Mazzaroppi, the Birdland Guitar Trio features some of New York City’s top jazz musicians. Every Wednesday night they grace the stage of the prestigious Birdland Jazz Club featuring special guests of some of the top names in jazz from Bria Skonberg, Catherine Russell, Ken Peplowski, Mike Stern, Karrin Allyson, Houston Person, Pasquale Grasso and many others.

Halloween has long been a sacred (scared?!) day for Club d'Elf, and Halloween shows are a long-standing tradition. This year the show falls on the very day itself, and a Friday at that. Costumes are encouraged!

Sip your favorite coffee and settle into the cozy charm of our farmhouse for an unforgettable hour of music with the MetroWest Jazz Project. This talented collaboration of jazz musicians brings you acoustic contemporary jazz, highlighted by the rich, mellow tones of the vibraphone.

After the concert, the music keeps flowing with an open jam session, welcoming musicians of all ages and skill levels, from enthusiastic beginners to seasoned pros. Free admission | Donations gratefully accepted.
