Melrose Symphony - Opening Night with Lucia Lin

Cellist Owen Young, a member of the BSO since 1991, is also an active chamber musician and soloist who has performed at festivals such as Tanglewood, Aspen, and Banff, and has collaborated frequently with singer James Taylor. He has appeared on NPR and WGBH, and is a founding member of the ensemble Innuendo. Young has taught at Berklee College of Music and previously at Boston Conservatory, New England Conservatory, and Longy School of Music. A Yale graduate with both bachelor’s and master’s degrees, his teachers included Aldo Parisot and Anne Martindale Williams, and his career includes fellowships at Tanglewood, performances with the Atlanta, Pittsburgh, and Boston Symphony Orchestras, and roles at Harvard University and Project STEP promoting music education for students of color.
