The Lied To's: Barside

The Lied To's: Barside

The Lied To’s — Doug Kwartler and Susan Levine — craft honest, harmony-driven Americana that explores the complexities of love, loss, and self-discovery. Their third album, The Worst Kind of New, digs deep into grief, memory, and moving forward, shaped by the personal loss of both their parents during its creation.

Known for their raw, cinematic sound and unflinching lyrics, the duo blends textured guitars and thoughtful songwriting to tell stories that resonate. From the reflective “Midnight Kiss” to their spirited single “It’s Not Who You Love,” The Lied To’s invite listeners into a space that’s both personal and universal.

Award-winning solo artists before they met, Kwartler and Levine joined forces in 2013 and have been making music — and life — together ever since.
