We open our 100th Anniversary Season with a nod to where it all began – Charles Gounod's regal March from The Queen of Sheba, the very first piece performed by the BrSO in 1925.

From there, the temperature rises with the tropical rhythms of Louis Moreau Gottschalk's A Night in the Tropics, followed by the hauntingly beautiful El Amor Brujo by Manuel de Falla, rich with flamenco and fiery emotion. Celebrated mezzo-soprano Janna Baty, known for her "viola-like tone," brings passion and depth to this sultry masterpiece. We close with George Gershwin's bold and jazzy Piano Concerto in F, the 1925 classic that defined this era. Acclaimed pianist Vijay Venkatesh takes the stage to bring this brilliant work to life in a grand finale worthy of a century in the making.
